Purpose Of The Role

The CAD Engineer produces accurate technical drawings and 3D models that support the design, development, and construction of engineering and building systems.

Role In MMC

CAD Engineers play a vital role in MMC by creating detailed digital drawings and models that feed into automated fabrication, DfMA processes, and platform-based construction. Their precision and ability to adapt digital files for manufacturing and site installation are key to successful offsite and modular delivery.

  • Level 3 Diploma, T Level, or HNC/HND in CAD, Engineering, Architectural Technology, or Construction.
  • Foundation degree or apprenticeship in Design & Draughting or Digital Engineering.

Training & Certifications

  • AutoCAD (2D & 3D) Training
  • Revit, Inventor, or SolidWorks Courses
  • Drawing Standards & Layering Conventions (BS 8888, ISO standards)
  • CNC File Preparation or CAM Integration
  • Construction Health & Safety Awareness (e.g. CSCS, CDM)
  • Basic BIM Awareness (ISO 19650 or Level 2)
  • DfMA & MMC Fundamentals Training
