CitA is committed to making the Skillnet MMC Accelerate platform accessible, in accordance with European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.

Compliance Status
CitA is working to ensure this platform is fully compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA. A full review of representative pages is underway. The Accessibility Statement will be updated to reflect the Accessibility Level of the platform once this is complete.
CitA is committed to providing a platform that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are currently working with Annertech to ensure we meet accessibility standards. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and adhering to the required accessibility standards.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

Skip to content link – is functional on all webpages to allow keyboard users to bypass repeated sections like navigation panes.
Keyboard/Screen reader navigation – has been implemented across all areas of the website to assist users who navigate using assistive technologies or without a mouse.
Accessible images – to inform users using a screen reader or other assistive technologies of an image’s contents.
Accessible forms – have correct focus order and validation.
Useful, descriptive link text – to inform users where links will bring them.
Correctly structured content with good heading usage – to increase readability and assist users using screen readers or other assistive technologies.
Cross operating system compatibility and mobile navigation – to ensure consistency in layout and navigation across all devices and operating systems.

Non-accessible Content
As we carry out regular testing and accessibility auditing to ensure ongoing accessibility compliance on our platform, CitA may become aware of certain areas/modules/templates on the platform where we could improve in terms of accessibility.
We strive to maintain a Level AA conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
Third-party content:
There are areas of our platform controlled by third-party companies, such as Youtube and Vimeo. These are not funded, developed, or controlled by CitA, Skillnet MMC Accelerate or Skillnet Ireland, but work is in progress to resolve as many issues related to these areas as feasibly possible.
Preparation of this Accessibility Statement ?
The Statement was prepared by Annertech to advise where Annertech performed a blend of manual and automated accessibility tests using multiple platforms like Windows (JAWS, NVDA), Mac (VoiceOver), iOS (VoiceOver) and Android (TalkBack) and their native accessibility tools. These issues were presented to the development team who are amending these issues and bringing the website into WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
