Privacy Policy

Privacy Statement Policy   

CitA, Skillnet MMC Accelerate, and Skillnet Ireland are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.  

Skillnet MMC Accelerate Scheme is funded by Skillnet Ireland from the National Training Fund through the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.  CitA are collaborating with Skillnet Ireland and CitA are contracted to create and execute this platform. 

CitA will comply with all applicable data protection legislation in respect of the information and personal data provided by you when completing the Skillnet MMC Accelerate form. You have the right of access to the data by means of a written request and you can request CitA to correct any inaccuracies in the data.  

Skillnet Ireland is mandated by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to monitor and evaluate training programmes provided by their Networks and to ensure that funds are being used appropriately. 

What We Collect 

We may collect personal data that you voluntarily provide through contact forms, registrations, surveys, or newsletter sign-ups. This may include your name, email address, job title, organisation, and any other details you choose to share. 

We also collect limited technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and usage statistics) for website functionality and analytics. This is anonymised and not used to identify individuals. 

How We Use Your Data 

Personal data is used solely for the purposes for which it was provided, including: 

  • Responding to enquiries 
  • Delivering events 
  • Sending updates or newsletters (if you opt in) 
  • Improving website functionality and user experience 

We do not share your personal data with third parties except where required by law or with trusted service providers under strict data protection agreements. 

Data Security and Retention 

Personal data will not be held by CitA or Skillnet MMC Accelerate except to gather the details you choose to share through use of the Career Guidance aspect of this platform. 

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data and retain it only for as long as necessary to fulfil its intended purpose or comply with legal obligations.  

Disclosure of information to other third parties 

Should you choose to avail of the Career Guidance option, contact details such as your company name, your full name, email address and phone number are shared with third parties such as CitA Skillnet MMC Accelerate Career Guidance providers with the sole purpose of arranging and delivering these services. Where these third parties are processing personal data on our behalf we will apply the appropriate data processing clauses in our contracts with the third parties as required by data protection laws. Where those third parties operate as independent controllers, they, and not we, are responsible for the processing of your data. 

The nature of the Internet is such that CitA, Skillnet MMC Accelerate cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us via the Internet as no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. However, we take appropriate steps to make sure your data is protected, we use appropriate technical security measures, including firewalls and anti-virus protection, from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to.

Your Rights 

Under data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).

  • To be informed about how CitA uses your personal data (the purpose of this Privacy Policy); 
  • To update your personal data. You can update, amend or delete your information by contacting CitA.
