The Design Lead plays a pivotal role in integrating MMC into project delivery by championing digital design, offsite manufacturing techniques, and standardisation of components. They ensure design decisions support efficiency, sustainability, and buildability across all phases of a project.

Education

  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.

Training & Certifications

  • MMC-specific workshops or bootcamps
  • BIM Level 2 or ISO 19650 training RIBA Part 3 (if from architectural background)
  • Chartered status (e.g., MCIAT, MCIOB, or ICE depending on discipline)
  • CSCS Professionally Qualified Person card
