Head Of Certification and Compliance

Purpose Of The Role

The Head of Certification and Compliance leads the development, implementation, and oversight of certification, inspection, and compliance frameworks, ensuring that construction activities meet legal, technical, and sustainability standards.

Role In MMC

As a strategic leader, the Head of Certification and Compliance plays a vital role in integrating regulatory standards with emerging construction technologies. This includes guiding inspection strategies for modular/off-site builds, ensuring lean and sustainable practices are certified appropriately, and shaping policy to align with innovations in construction delivery.

Suggested Entry Routes

Education

  • NFQ Level 8–9 qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Law, or related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Project Management, or Sustainability is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in construction regulation, quality assurance, certification or related fields.
  • Leadership experience in managing inspection or compliance teams, especially in an MMC context, is highly desirable.

Training & Certifications

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification.
  • CPD in Construction Law and Building Regulations (Irish Building Control system).
  • LEED/BREEAM/Passive House accreditation (desirable).
  • Chartered membership with Engineers Ireland, CIOB, RIAI or similar bodies.
