Robotic Technician

Purpose Of The Role

The Robotic Technician supports the installation, operation, and maintenance of robotic systems used on modern construction sites, helping to deliver safer, faster, and more efficient building projects.

Role In MMC

Robotic Technicians play a key role in integrating and maintaining automation within MMC processes, such as modular assembly, 3D printing, and on-site robotic systems for tasks like bricklaying, surveying, and quality control. Their expertise helps enhance precision, reduce waste, and improve safety across construction projects.

Experience

  • Previous work in mechanical or electrical maintenance, automation, or engineering.
  • Site-based construction experience combined with strong technical interest in robotics.

Education

  • National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 5 or 6 in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or Robotics.
  • Higher Certificate or Degree (Level 7–8) in Automation, Control Systems, or Construction Engineering.

Training & Certifications

  • Apprenticeship in Industrial Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Automation.
  • Site-based induction programmes including MMC exposure.
  • Safe Pass (mandatory for all construction workers in Ireland).
  • Manual Handling
  • Robotic Systems or PLC Programming Certification (e.g., from FANUC, ABB, Siemens).
