Purpose Of The Role

The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, and manages electrical systems that power, control, and support buildings and infrastructure in safe, efficient, and sustainable ways.

Role In MMC

Electrical Engineers contribute significantly to MMC by designing systems that are compatible with modular and prefabricated components. They work with digital models, support platform-based approaches, and help coordinate offsite installation of electrical systems for faster and more precise delivery.

Experience

  • Experience in site installation, electrical contracting, or building services design.
  • CAD/BIM modelling experience beneficial.

Education

  • BEng or MEng in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
  • Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Installation, or Design.

Training & Certifications

  • BS 7671 – IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
  • Revit MEP, AutoCAD Electrical, or other design software training
  • BIM Awareness or ISO 19650 Courses
  • Low Voltage Design & Energy Efficiency CPDs
  • Electrical Testing & Inspection (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent)
  • MMC and DfMA Awareness Courses
  • Health & Safety (e.g. CDM Regulations, ECS Card)
