The Logistics Assistant supports the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials, components, and products throughout the construction supply chain, ensuring the right items are in the right place at the right time.
Role In MMC
The Logistics Assistant plays a key role in enabling the smooth delivery of MMC projects by coordinating the flow of pre-manufactured materials, modular components, and construction systems between factories, storage facilities, and sites. With increasing reliance on offsite production and just-in-time delivery, logistics assistants help reduce delays, cut waste, and support the timely assembly of MMC buildings.

Education
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent with maths and basic IT
- PLC course in logistics, supply chain operations, or construction-related fields
- Apprenticeship programmes in logistics or construction trades
Training & Certifications
- Manual Handling and Safe Pass certification
- Forklift or telehandler training (if applicable)
- Digital logistics systems training (e.g., inventory or transport tracking tools)
- QQI Level 5 in Logistics, Construction Technology, or Business
- CSCS card for equipment use (if needed)
- Certified training in software such as SAP or warehouse management systems (WMS)
