Purpose Of The Role

The Sustainability Assistant helps the team make construction projects more environmentally friendly by collecting data and supporting sustainability actions and innovations.

Role In MMC

The Sustainability Assistant plays a key role in promoting green building practices. They support MMC by helping teams measure and improve environmental performance, reduce carbon footprints, and apply circular economy principles to new building methods such as modular construction and low-carbon material use.

  • Experience as a site operative, project coordinator, or admin with sustainability exposure
  • Participation in green community or volunteer projects
  • Internship in a construction or environmental organisation

Training & Certifications

  • On-the-job mentoring by sustainability officers or engineers
  • Short courses in carbon literacy, waste management, or climate action
  • Safe Pass (mandatory for most construction roles)
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Introductory CPD on green building standards (e.g., LEED Green Associate, BREEAM Awareness)
