The Environmental Performance Technician monitors, assesses and helps improve the environmental performance of construction projects, ensuring sustainable practices and compliance with environmental standards.
Role In MMC
Environmental Performance Technicians play a key role in integrating sustainability and energy efficiency into MMC projects. By using data and performance metrics, they guide the adoption of eco-friendly materials, offsite construction techniques, and digital tools to minimise environmental impact and enhance long-term building performance.

Education
- National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 6 or 7 in Environmental Science, Construction Technology, Building Services, or related fields.
- Degree or diploma in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management.
Training & Certifications
- Safe Pass (mandatory for site access in Ireland)
- Manual Handling Certificate
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems training
- Training in Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Training in air quality monitoring, noise assessment or other relevant environmental assessment techniques
