Purpose Of The Role

The digital fabrication technician operates and maintains digital manufacturing tools—such as CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutters—to turn digital designs into physical components for construction and prototyping.

Role In MMC

Digital Fabrication Technicians are at the heart of MMC, helping to realise offsite manufacturing, DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly), and platform-based construction. They bring digital models to life through precise, repeatable, and automated production methods that reduce waste and improve quality.

  • CNC Operation & Programming (e.g. Fusion 360 CAM, Mastercam)
  • Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing Courses
  • Health & Safety in Workshops (e.g. COSHH, Manual Handling, PUWER)
